The San Juan Bridge Pier 5 is located next to the slope of the riverbank of the San Juan Water Reservoir. To prevent erosion and scouring of the slope and consequently protecting the pier, a slope protection was constructed by FS. The slope protection consists of embankment materials, stone masonry, gabions, mattresses, and shotcrete.
Two positions of FS Post-tensioned Soil Anchors, to protect Pier 5 on a short-term period, was installed while the permanent gravity-type slope protection was being constructed.
